The Golden Aurora, presented to Mr. Kean by National Association of Home Builders Chairman of the Board Barry Rutenberg.
The award marked a night of multiple honors for the Mr. Kean’s Winter Park firm that captured Grand Awards in energy efficiency, water-wise and solar energy categories and the Best in Florida Award for the New American Home.
News reports said that eight nationally respected judges were lavish in their praise of the Golden Aurora-winning custom home that honored the architecture of the classic “white box” from the 1960s while delivering what today’s buyers want in terms of natural light, leading-edge technology, and green certification.
Comprised of walls of movable glass panels and motorized screens, the floor plan was designed so that indoor and outdoor spaces flow one into another. Special feature spaces include a workout room, TV loft, spa-like master bath, three balconies, art gallery, lanai, and a pool area with summer kitchen.
